    The IFS solution representative a Latvian Company «E-PASAULE» has completed a computerization project on the Kegums HPS technological equipemnt repair operation management

    The Kegum HPS is the oldest Daugava hydraulic power station formed by two independent HPS. The right – bank power station was built in 1939, but HPS on the left bank was built in 1979 in order to use waters of the Daugava River more efficiently.

    The necessity to introduce and apply the equipment repair and technical data management information system at JSC «Latvenergo» appeared a long time ago. Development of technical requirements of the information system continued for almost two years. In the process of development of requirements there were invloved enterprise’s experts enabling to create a requirement package for a system that would satisfy all structural units connected to all equipemnt service of the Daugava HPS. In early 2006 JSC «Latvenergo» announced a tender on the supply of repair system and implentation at the Kegums HPS. The tender was won by «E-PASAULE» LTD. with IFS ofered solution. IFS system solution met the tender’s requirements, making minimum modifications of the system.

    Implementation of a project of a single repair and technical maintenance management information system IFS Applications began in September 2006. For maintenance of basic processes of the hydraulic power station maintenance service there were applied below functional opportunities offerd by IFS modules: «Equipment», «Scheduled repair», «Work Task Management», «Document Management». There was also applied a module that enabled to work with the system applying Web interface and to receive system’s messages by e-mail.

    During the project there was installed a new equipment coding system that enabled to sort out the equipment in an easily foreseeable structure. Now engineers can enter into the IFS system main equipment types and technological parameters, enabling to maintain the equipment – related information in an electronic format.

    Repair opreation annual schedules are being determined and within the system there have been created calendar plan criteria. The HPS engineers have remade cardinally or elaborated anew equipment repair technological cards. That considerably releived to the engineers preparation of work tasks for scheduled maintenance, current and restoration repair operations, also equipment failures and faults stated during the equipment service.

    According to JSC «Latvenergo» standards there was developed necessary document printout forms. Now the hydraulic power station experts receive necessary printouts and reports from the IFS system.

    The project of implementation of the system at the Kegums HPS is the first phase of computerization of work of JSC «Latvenergo» maintenance service. It is planned to implement the solution also at other JSC ”Latvenergo” hydraulic power stations. Further development of the repair and technical maintenance system is planned to execute applying JSC «Latvenergo» experts. This certifies again the simplicity of adaptation and implementation of Company’s IFS solutions.
