Implementation of IFS Applications at JSC "Latvijas Gāze" Inčukalns undeground gas storage
«E-PASAULE» Ltd., IFS Russia & CIS partner in Latvia have successfully completed a computerization project of Incukalns undeground gas storage maintenance service. A complicated technological process and enhanced service safety requirements at Inčukalns undeground gas storage determine major trends in its development, one of which is a package computerization of object management.
In September 2006 JSC «Latvijas Gāze» entered into a contract with «E-PASAULE» Ltd. on supply of a technical maintenance and repair system IFS Applications and implementation at Incukalns undeground gas storage. The IFS solution was chosen since it fully met requirements of the enterprise and could develop in the context of the existed information structure. To maintain the enterprise’s processes there were implemented the modules «Equipment», «Preventive Maintenance», «Work Task Management», «Stock Management», «Document Management».
While compiling an equipment catalogue there was implemented a new equipment coding system that enabled to relieve considerably the navigation in a vast nomenclature list and to sort out searching in the entire equipment structure. There were determined equipment units with controlleable parameters, which values served aspreventive maintenance execution criteria. That facilitated the value changing control and information exchange between the maintenance service and the laboratory.
The «Work Taks Management» module additionally to repair tasks let to run a report procedure after every inspection, which relieved employees of the maintenance servicefrom tiresom log fill.
Due to enhanced safety technical requirements execution of all information about repair, preventive maintenance and inspection should be available in a hard copy version. „E-PASAULE” Ltd. employees during the project revised available written copies and logs, developed and coordinated with JSC «Latvijas Gāze» administration the document standardized forms and implemented thereof in routine work process.

«At the moment of gas suction the equipment of the Compressor Shop must work continuously. The IFS system will help us to accumulate unscheduled repair statistics and to elucidate the reasons of their necessity. This will enable to reduce considerably the numebr of equipment service failures», says Rinalds Dimins, Head of gas Compressor Service Department.
